Celebrities
It's fascinating to find out who in the public eye breastfeeds. Some did well, others not so well, just like the rest of us. Here is our list of celebrity breastfeeding Mothers and Fathers.
When he's breast-feeding, I just sit there and stare at him. I'm in awe of this little miracle.

An ounce of breast milk is even more potent than the finest tequila.

I do miss breastfeeding. I was good at it.
I got more than my fair share - I could hit the wall from quite a distance! I do have some useless talents.
Kate Beckinsale
People say, “You're still breast-feeding, that's so generous”. Generous, no! It gives me boobs and it takes my thighs away!
It's sort of like natural liposuction.
I'd carry on breast-feeding for the rest of my life if I could.
Helena Bonham Carter
I can't imagine not breastfeeding. I'm not going to preach but it's
better for the baby and the mother and it's such a bonding thing as well. I also love the fact she's dependent on me.
I think if you can and you don't it's ridiculous

Breastfeeding is undoubtedly the best thing you can do for your baby.
It took a lot of persevering through the early weeks because my daughter didn't latch on properly and it really hurt;
but I'm happy I stayed with it because not only do I have a special bond with my child, but it's easy now and
is also extremely healthy.

I just couldn't stop losing weight with the breastfeeding,
I ate as much as I possibly could, but I kept losing. You'll see why when you meet Charlie.
He's a stocky guy,
and he likes to eat and eat more. You cook it, he'll eat it.
Jodie Foster
The convenience and the health benefits are indisputable and my children
were hardly ever ill as babies. I feel it was particularly important for me as two of my
children were premature and I feel that breastfeeding provided them with the required
antibodies needed to fight off infection and grow into the healthy children they are now,
as well as forging a close relationship between mother and child.
Sadie Frost
I went back to work, albeit part time, relatively early. I just felt it was really important to me, when I came in the door and Derek's Mum had been looking after Darcey all morning, emotionally I could push her to one side - Mum's here now - and it was something only I could do. That bond was really emotionally important to me.

Breastfeeding feels so natural - and it's great not having to worry about bottles and sterilising when you're out. I think it's made me closer to Devon, too. He looks so happy and safe when he's feeding, and it really comforts him - much better than a dummy!
Nell McAndrew
I was determined to breastfeed. I'd done some reading about it and when I joined the National Childbirth Trust we saw a video showing you how to get the baby to latch on. It still took me a while to get the hang of it but at least I knew what I was supposed to be doing!... when it works, it's a wonderful feeling. It really is nature's way of helping you bond. I'm still breastfeeding now I'm back on set. I'm expressing milk for during the day and when I get home it's the first thing I do. It's a great way to re-connect. I'll carry on until the baby wants to stop.

I breast-fed the kids. You know, breasts?
Sharon Osbourne
It's a shame that soaps and TV dramas aren't showing how important breastfeeding is for both mums and babies - it is after all, the most normal way to feed a baby. As a mum, I decided that breastfeeding was the natural choice for me to give my children the best start in life.

This (breastfeeding) is a miracle of nature... Brazilian women need to think about the health of their babies and stop worrying about whether their breast will sag. I breastfed my first child for seven months - and I can tell you, everything soon returned to normal.
Luiza Tomé
Abigail Witchalls (severely disabled)
I'm going to do it as long as I can. ...there is something so intimate about it.
For that one hour or 45 minutes it's just wonderful. It's wonderful bonding and you know they're getting these antibodies.

The times when I felt especially useful were when Lucy was breastfeeding - Archie was a hungry baby; he fed every two hours - and I'd nip out to the supermarket to get whatever she wanted.

A woman's life isn't worth a plateful of cabbage if she hasn't felt life stir under her heart.
Taking a little one to nurse, watching him grow to manhood, that's what love is.
